MPI Racing Front Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly for 1997-2008 C5/C6 Corvette
MPI's Racing Hub Assembly for the C5 & C6 application is a cost effective heavy duty replacement for the OEM hubs on '97-'08 C5 & C6 Corvettes. MPI developed this hub to fill the market void for customers who are looking to upgrade their hub assemblies to performance oriented assembly, but are looking for a more cost effective option compared to the SKF/AFE X-Tracker Hub Assemblies. These are perfect for customers who do the occasional track day or autocross event and are looking for a stronger hub assembly than OE or for customers who just want a more robust replacement for their OEM hubs on their street car.
These hubs feature a much thicker flange (.475") than the OEM hub assemblies which helps prevent distortion, which the OEM hubs were susceptible to during high performance use. In addition to the thicker flange, these hub assemblies use a bearing design similar to what was found on the 09-13 ZR1 which helps to improve stiffness during cornering.
The MPI hubs are offered with OEM sized wheel studs standard, but we have the option to include high strength 2.5" or 3.25" ARP extended wheel studs if desired. If you would like us to press in the extended studs prior to shipping, that service is available from the drop-down menu as well.
The high strength ARP wheel studs are made from heat treated 8740 chromoly, nominally rated at 190,000 PSI tensile strength, and are recommended for racing application or applications which will utilize wheel spacers.
Note: 1997-2008 applications use 30 spline hub assemblies originally. However, if you have upgraded to ZR1 33 spline rear axles, we offer the 33 spline option as well.
Note: The option to include ARP wheel studs will add 5 ARP studs per hub assembly purchased. For example, the "single" option will include 5 studs, the "pair" option will include 10 studs and the "full set of four" option will include 20 studs.
