ARP Individual Thread Cleaning Chaser - 912-0001 for use on all 1997-2014 Gen 3 and Gen 4 LS engine applications.
The cylinder head bolts on the Gen III & IV LS engines are blind (they bottom out in the engine block) and the head bolts occupy nearly 100% of the cylinder head bolt hole. Because of that, its imperative that the cylinder head bolt threads are clean and clear of any fluid or debris to prevent damage to the threads or breaking of the head bolt during the TTY sequence. This ARP thread chaser is the perfect tool for cleaning out those threads, both on the early Gen III deep threaded applications as well as the 04 and later "short" style bolt applications.
